JULY 26 – ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING and LUNCH

AUGUST 8 – KOKODA DAY COMMEMORATION, Broadbeach QLD

On 8 August we gather at Cascade Gardens, Broadbeach, for a solemn Service remembering the vital battles and the ending of the War. After paying our respect to the casualties of that War, we looked at the new small Pavers laid behind the Memorial in honour of family members.
This is a national event, one of the highlights of our year.

NOVEMBER 11 – REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICE and Lunch

Remembrance Day is an important national occasion marking the anniversary of the ceasefire of the First World War, and a time to honour those who have served, died or suffered in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.

A large ceremony is always held at the Flame of Remembrance at Kings Park in Perth . Our Association President, Aidan Grimes, will again be travelling to PNG and will lay a wreath at the Bomana War Cemetery on behalf of all members.
Members who can travel to Brisbane are invited to attend the 2026 Queensland RSL Remembrance Day ceremony, which will take place around the Shrine of Remembrance from 10.15 am at the Ann Street entrance to ANZAC Square in Brisbane, on Wednesday 11 November. Immediately following the ceremony, it has been traditional for our group to visit the Memorial Galleries below the Shrine and lay a poppy, and then to meet for lunch in the dining room of the Grand Central Hotel opposite the Shrine at about mid-day.
